CAMPUS Project
Actions specifically aimed at the territory by "Treviso Tecnologia" Special Agency of the Treviso Chamber of Commerce

Treviso Tecnologia, the Special Agency of the Treviso Chamber of Commerce is carrying out the "Campus Enterprise Action" project, natural evolution and addition to the "Campus Unioncamere" (1995-2001) project. The latter was set up with the intention of improving relations between the world of academia and the labour market, offering educational opportunities and internships for the students of Diploma Courses based in Treviso (University Diploma in Informatics and Automatic Engineering - University of Padua -, Industrial Design - IUAV-, Foreign Trade and Statistics Informatics for Business Administration - Ca' Foscari).

This activity has taken advantage of grants made available by the European Social Fund and by the Treviso Chamber of Commerce. For its whole duration the project strengthened the ties and mutual trust between Companies and Students in internship activities promoted by Treviso Tecnologia, with the direct involvement of the Chambers of Commerce and Trade Associations.

The current new project, "Campus Enterprise Action Veneto" sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce of Treviso, Vicenza, Venice and Padua has more specific purposes and aims at creating a regional portal to collect the experiences of single provincial situations.
The Chamber of Commerce wanted on one side to guarantee internship activities consolidated in time at the provincial level, on the other hand to widen and improve relations with Companies, Students, and Diploma Courses, which have in the meantime become first level degrees.
To sum the project up, a virtual on-line piazza puts in touch different players: the Special Agencies of the Chambers of Commerce, Students, Universities, Companies, Trade Associations as well as the Chambers of Commerce proper.

The www.campus.tvtecnologia.it portal has allowed diverse needs to be brought around the same work table. Communication flows through an easily accessible channel, the natural home to concrete data, updated data, such as, for example, graduate occupational outcome, which can be consulted by any party involved.
This software instrument should be evaluated especially in light of the return of information for firms, who are able to draw up detailed requests for specific intern profiles, and for Students, who by drawing up a detailed profile of their specific professional personality are able to find placements in suitable sectors and roles, and finally for the Universities, who can thus get a first-hand idea of the evolution of the market and adjust their learning proposals accordingly.

A whole range of other activities related to each Diploma course has also been developed, in which Attention Groups formed by representatives of each category involved compare their experiences in order to create new initiatives for easier recruitment.
Through this project graduate and non-graduate personnel can have a deeper awareness of the difficulties to be tackled with when facing the labour market, and are therefore able to offer strongly characterised professionalism to address specific local economic needs.
One of the objectives for the future is to involve other Degree Courses as well, which based on previous experiences, might decide to establish new and more concrete relations with the labour market in which "guaranteed graduates" will be hired by "guaranteed firms".

In the near future a project funded by the Veneto Region will be launched, which will assure for 2003 the continuation of the services offered (internships and training) by Treviso Tecnologia with respect to the Degree Course in Industrial Design and Informatics Engineering.

The Campus Enterprise Action regional portal will also be implemented, not only to give greater visibility to the project, but also to allow to manage data, information and indicators on occupational outcome and internship activities of the numerous Degree Courses in the Treviso province.
