The Regione Veneto and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) launched an extensive cooperation and development programme to enhance economic, trade and cultural relationships between them.
This cooperation MOU – signed by the president of Regione Veneto Mr Luca Zaia and the Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union Mrs Mary Chow – implies activities by both regions that could promote reciprocal investments, provide connections among companies and investors and transfer accessible, useful information for a higher presence of local companies from both contexts on each other’s market.
In particular, the agreement is based on four points: exchanging information for the purpose of supporting specific policies generating cooperation opportunities; promoting local economic actors' participation in the main events and trade fairs; facilitating relationships among companies and fostering reciprocal visits among representatives from enterprises; promoting seminars, symposia, training activities and internships that support technology knowledge and exchange.
The sectors involved in this cooperation are, among others: the food and wine industry, trade and economy, research and education, cooperation among universities, science and technology, the promotion of investments and tourism.
