PORTLAND / HERZOGENAURACH (February 5, 2009) - Tipping off June 5-7, adidas Basketball will host the 8th annual adidas Eurocamp; a three-day showcase of Europe's finest basketball players ranging in age 18-21. adidas Eurocamp will take place at La Ghirada Sports Complex in Treviso, Italy and is the only officially sanctioned NBA pre-draft camp outside of the United States.

Formerly run by Reebok, Eurocamp invites elite players throughout Europe to participate and gain the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of scouts, coaches, and general managers from a number of basketball teams and leagues from around the world, including the NBA and Euroleague, as well as gain exposure from major global media outlets. The 2009 Reebok Eurocamp was attended by 45 agents, 60 coaches and more than 200 NBA and European general managers, scouts and basketball personnel.

OVER THE LAST SEVEN YEARS, EUROCAMP HAS PRODUCED 47 PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED OR ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING IN THE NBA OR EUROLEAGUE.

Some notable European players who have attended Eurocamp include Danilo Gallinari of the New York Knicks, Serge Ibaka of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Andrea Bargnani and Marco Belinelli of the Toronto Raptors, Nicolas Batum and Rudy Fernandez of the Portland Trailblazers and Marcin Gortat of the Orlando Magic. In addition to Eurocamp's success in professional basketball worldwide, 12 Eurocamp participants from six countries appeared in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The world will be watching as media from the U.S and Europe including outlets such as ESPN, NBA TV, Sports Illustrated, SLAM Magazine, Super Basket, Mondial Basket, Gigantes and more will all be on hand to cover the three-day event. Current GM's and coaches who have attended and expected to return to Eurocamp include Danny Ferry, Jay Triano, Kiki Vandeweghe, Mike Dunleavy, Jack Sikma, Rolando Blackman, Keith Smart, Terry Stotts, Donnie Nelson, Ettore Messina, David Blatt, and ESPN's global basketball connoisseur, Fran Fraschilla.
