On the occasion of the inauguration of the renovated old silk mill in Villa Emo, in the presence of:

the Villa Emo Foundation presented its initiatives for 2009.
1- Opening of the old silk mill.
The silk mill building has been recently renovated and can host cultural events and representative meetings.
2- Annual programme of activities.
The planned activities have the following objectives: enhancing the knowledge of the historical site, supporting the environmental sustainability of the territory, giving due value to local products through events related to culture and music.
Moreover, this year the park and the ancient small village in front of the Villa will be open to the public along with the Villa and adjacent structures.
3- A series of conferences on the landscape and agriculture.
A series of meetings will be organised by Mr. Torsello on how to interpret the farmland, and more specifically the territory of Veneto region, paying particular attention to transformations undergone by the landscape throughout the centuries, also considering food and wine culture as fundamental issues.
4- New entrance and welcome path for visitors.
The new entrance path has been officially inaugurated. In the entrance, a lounge complete with boards, touch screen monitors and models of the building will introduce the visitors to the following tour of the Villa.
5- Palladio Card.
The Palladio Card offers interesting reductions to visit the most important Palladian villas.
