The birth of the INNOVeTION VALLEY
The first meeting on Italian contemporary art, design, enterprise and territory took place in Asolo (at the Fornace dell’Innovazione) on Friday 3 October 2008.
Risk, dream, research: design on INNOVeTION VALLEY
Took part in the event: Mr. Alberto Bassi, historian and design critic from IUAV University of Venice; Mr. Giorgio Camuffo, director of the graduate degree in visual and multimedia design from IUAV University of Venice; Mrs. Maria Luisa Frisa, director of the undergraduate degree in fashion design from IUAV University of Venice; Mr. Francesco Giacomin, president of the Fornace dell’Innovazione. Mr. Cristiano Seganfreddo, director of Fuoribiennale, opened the meeting.

INNOVeTION VALLEY
[ֽΙn.ə've.∫өn 'væl.i] neologism, stands for “innovation valley”. It is called “INNOVeTION” due to the high concentration of creative, innovative industries within the area: it is a network made up of 450 thousand companies operating in the fields of fashion, design and technology; “VALLEY” is used to refer to its vastness: as a matter of fact, it covers the whole North-East of Italy. INNOVeTION VALLEY is a strategic planning project of the new North East of Italy, networking companies, public and private institutions, culture, research, innovation and tradition with the social reality. It is the driving force behind Italian creativity, aimed at carrying an unstoppable process forward, an economic and cultural development that will guide future choices as for politics, enterprise and arts.
INNOVeTION VALLEY is the place where effective answers on relations among enterprise, innovation, design are sought. Design is interpreted within the project, its processes and methods, but also in relation to issues concerning the challenge between global and local, public and personal, survival and extinction, risk and security.
