“The labour market in Treviso keeps marking positive results: a 3.9% of unemployment, provincial exports exceeding € 10 billion, and regional one € 49.5 billion; enterprises grew by nearly 250 units during the last year, and in particular those in the sector of business services increased by 87 units; foreign orders grew by 6.3% since March. We are cooperating with both institutions and trade associations and unions.
The Unità operativa per il Reimpiego – Operational Unit established by the province of Treviso to facilitate re-employment – already helped to reintegrate 265 people within the labour market: this is an example of best practice that could be possibly adopted all over Italy; the other one is the Strategic Plan.
To support the growth of Treviso economic system, we mainly concentrate on the optimization of human capital through university education; moreover, we prefer to sustain centres for the product, rather than process, innovation, in order to enhance the gross operating margin of enterprises.
During the current year, local economy is marking a slowdown that will be probably more considerable in the second six-month period of 2008.
However, enterprises within the province of Treviso and, more in general, Veneto region, are used to face growth challenge day by day, and up to now they always obtained very good results”.
