The Assembly of Unindustria Treviso took place on the 24 of May 2008.
The former president of Unindustria Treviso Andrea Tomat handed the presidency over to the newly elected Alessandro Vardanega.
This assembly, which was held in the historic Villa Loredan Gasparini (Venegazzù di Volpago del Montello), was the occasion for Ms. Emma Marcegaglia, the head of the employers’ organisation Confindustria, to make her first public speech.
Also the Senator Maurizio Sacconi, now minister in charge of Health and Labour, and Luca Zaia, minister of agriculture were present, and they have been interviewed by the journalist Bruno Vespa, when all the 2,500 participants could take part in the round table.

The former president Andrea Tomat offered his thanks to Federico Tessari, head of Unioncamere Veneto and Treviso Chamber of Commerce, for the activities they carried out together. Here is the speech:
“The same way, it is important to keep in mind the agreement that was signed with trade unions in the October of 2004, an important document for two reasons: first of all, because for the first time enterprises and trade unions expressed shared judgements on the relevant phenomenon of globalization and the consequent relocalization of production. That is a path that supported and accelerated the process of internationalization that we are facing as protagonists.
The second reason is the launch of a collaboration among different local actors, which might manage temporary job losses in an effective and supportive way.
This result was achieved thanks to the Chamber of Commerce (and its head Federico Tessari), and Maurizio Sacconi, who was at that time undersecretary in charge of Health and Labour, and is now a minister of the Italian Republic”.
