Balance sheet 2007. Treviso manufacturing industry marks +2%.

Treviso manufacturing industry closed the year 2007 under the sign of growth: trend variations as for production and turnover are respectively +2.0% and +2.1%.

These data were obtained from a survey by the Ufficio Studi of Treviso Chamber of Commerce, which took into consideration a sample of 200 manufacturing enterprises for a total of 13,000 employees.

More specifically: as for production, the driving factors are machinery and wood-furniture, with annualized growths of 3% and 2.8% respectively, producing a positive effect also on occupation, which marks slight increases.
As for turnover, the sectors which stand out are wood-furniture (+3.8%) and textile-clothing (+2.5%): both of them are supported by foreign sales, marking a +6.0% and a +5.1% respectively.

The domestic demand marks a negative performance through order trends: in fact, besides the normal bounce with respect to summer, they are limited to an increase of 1.5% on an annual basis.
The average of data shows a downturn of 2.5% in the textile-clothing sector, while machinery industry mark an increase of 2.4%.

Foreign orders, on the other hand, keep being very positive and indicate a rise of 5.3% on annual basis, while industrial machinery performs even better, with a +7.5%.

With regard to export, it’s worth reminding that the average quota of export turnover over total turnover constantly fluctuates between 30 and 35%. The incidence of foreign earned income for export companies grows.

The capacity utilization rate, which is the last considered factor, levelled off at 76%.

Estimations for the next six months consider positively the growth of foreign demand and turnover, while domestic demand is not expected to evolve positively. Occupation is judged stable.
